Estate Planning

Estate Planning is not a one-size fits all process. Every client brings unique needs to the planning table and Talley Life Planning is dedicated to creating a plan for each client that suits that client's individual and specific set of circumstances.  Estate plans may be as simple as executing agency documents, or may be more complex and include a will or a trust. Whatever your needs are, Talley Life Planning is here to help you design a plan that is right for you and meets your specific goals for your end-of-life planning.

Probate

When a loved one dies with or without a will, you will likely need to go through the probate process in order to gain access to and distribute that person's property.  Let Talley Life Planning guide you through the probate process, which can often be difficult and sometimes lengthy.  Having an attorney to help you navigate this process can be invaluable, and will ensure that the process is completed correctly and as quickly as possible.

Guardianship

If it becomes necessary to consider a guardianship for your loved one, Talley Life Planning will help you navigate the process and keep the focus on the best interest of your loved one.  A Guardianship is a deprivation of rights and is only appropriate when less restrictive alternatives are unavailable. For those times when it is necessary to consider a guardianship, let Talley Life Planning help you provide for and protect your loved one.

Powers of Attorney

Part of building a solid estate plan is naming people who will act as your agent when you are unable to act for yourself. The Georgia Advance Directive for Healthcare permits you to name someone who will act as your healthcare agent to communicate your wishes to your doctors when you are unable to do so. The Georgia Power of Attorney Act permits you to name a financial agent who will make financial decisions in your stead should you become unable to make them for yourself. Both of these documents are very powerful tools that are available to everyone. Let Talley Life Planning help you execute these documents as the first step in your estate planning process.

Titling and Name Changes

For estate planning purposes, it is important to have your documents properly titled. Talley Life Planning will help you understand how your documents are titled, and if the name on the title needs to be changed, will help you with the name change.  Also, if the name you use is not your legal name and you would like to have your name legally changed to the name you use, we can help with that.
